Skill Level Explanation
Bandeja Padel – Beginner Level
Equivalent to KNLTB ranking 8/9 and Playtomic ranking 1 – 2 +/-
You have been playing for a few months, around 1-2 times per week, or have been playing irregularly for 1-2 years with some racket sports experience.
You can hit forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves over the net.
After serving, you tend to stay at the back of the court. Points are mostly played from the backcourt.
During service, you and your opponent switch sides, just like in tennis.
Bandeja Padel – Intermediate Level
Equivalent to KNLTB ranking 6/7 and Playtomic ranking 2.5 – 4 +/-
You have considerable playing experience and play at least once a week.
You are practicing advanced shots such as the bandeja, vibora, bajada, and chiquita and are beginning to gain control over them.
You can reliably hit forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves.
You are developing a tactical understanding of the game. After serving, you immediately move towards the net and try to maintain the net position.
During service, the net player does not switch sides.
When returning, you try to gain net position by playing a lob or chiquita. You also analyze your opponent’s positioning to determine where to place your shots.
