Level Descriptions

Bandeja Padel – Beginner Level

This level roughly corresponds to KNLTB 8/9 and Playtomic 1.0 – 2.0.

You have been playing padel for a few months, approximately once or twice a week, or you have played occasionally for one to two years. You may also have experience in another racket sport. You are able to hit a forehand, backhand, volley, and serve consistently over the net.

After serving, you usually remain at the back of the court. Most points are played and won from the back of the court. During service games, both you and your partner switch sides, similar to tennis.

Bandeja Padel – Intermediate Level

This level roughly corresponds to KNLTB 6/7 and Playtomic 2.5 – 4.0.

You have gained a fair amount of playing experience and play at least once a week. You are practicing shots such as the bandeja, vibora, bajada, and chiquita, and are starting to develop control over them. You have good control of the fundamental shots, including the forehand, backhand, volleys, and serve.

You are beginning to understand the tactical side of the game. After serving, you move directly to the net and try to maintain the net position. During service games, the non-serving player does not switch sides. When returning, you try to gain the net position by playing a lob or a chiquita. You also pay attention to your opponents’ positioning to determine the best shot selection.

Bandeja Padel – Advanced Level

This level roughly corresponds to KNLTB 4/5 and Playtomic 4.0+.

You have extensive playing experience and play at least twice a week. You regularly participate in tournaments and league competitions. In addition to the basic shots, you have strong control over padel-specific shots such as the bandeja, vibora, bajada, and chiquita.

You can hit winning shots with both kick smashes and power smashes and are occasionally able to hit the ball out of the court. You have a strong tactical understanding of the game, know how to construct points effectively, vary the pace during rallies, and recognize the right moments to finish points.
